The 2GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant is priced at Rs 9,999, the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM is available at Rs 10,999, and the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model is priced at Rs 12,999.

This is the first time when Xiaomi has released a new smartphone in 2017 in the Indian market. We have reviewed the top variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The Good

Similar to the last year’s Redmi Note 3, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 offers a metal unibody design keeping 151x76x8.3mm dimensions. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display. Still, it is easy to grip and carry the device in your pocket. The smartphone looks premium thanks to its polished antenna line which adds character to the phone.

The display on Redmi Note 4 is bright crisp and soothing to the eyes. The device also has reading mode feature which optimises the display brightness which won’t stress your eyes at all. Moreover, the 2.5D glass with round edges beautifies the overall appearance. It also features a good screen-to-body ratio on the device.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in Indian market come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and not a MediaTek chip which was offered in China. With such powerful processor, the device can handle anything you expect from a phone. For gaming, the 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and the Adreno 506 GPU is ideal for handling top notch graphics and speed. On the software front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features Android Marshmallow OS with MIUI 8 on top. For photography, the device offers a 13MP primary rear camera with f/2.0 lens, 77-degree wide-angle lens, and PDAF. The images captured on the device are crisp and offers a lot of detailing. The low light photography on the Redmi Note 4 is far better than the Redmi Note 3. Up front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a dual-SIM mobile with 4G LTE support. It has a dedicated fingerprint sensor at the rear panel. The 4100mAh battery on the handset is super optimised to last easily for a day and a half with average usage.

The Bad

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has a hybrid dual-SIM module which let users either use two SIM cards or just one SIM card and microSD card at any given time. So you can’t use two SIMs in your smartphone if you wish to expand the storage.

Secondly, the 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture is a fixed focus camera which is good for regular selfies, but the camera performance in low light situations is not that impressive. The low-light selfies on Redmi Note 4 are sometimes noisy.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is surely a fear among other companies who compete in the budget smartphone segment. The Redmi Note 4 is definitely a dreadful warrior in this space and offers value for money features and hardware specifications. The handset has all that takes to be the perfect smartphone in 2017.

Now again, Should you buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4? The answer is a big YES. If you are looking to buy a smartphone with top-notch specifications in a budget segment, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the perfect pick for you.
