The Chinese smartphone maker, Meizu has recently shared teasers for an upcoming phone called Meizu M6s in China. The company has shared the teaser via its official Weibo profile. It also announced that the Meizu M6s smartphone will go official on January 17. The phone was recently spotted on TENAA which has revealed key details about the handset.
The USP of the device will be its 18:9 aspect ratio display. It is worth mentioning that it will be the first Meizu smartphone to come with 18:9 aspect ratio display. Meizu has started sending out the media invites for the launch event of the M6s smartphone in China. Last week, the Meizu M6s was spotted on TENAA certification site and it revealed design and a few specifications of the alleged device.
Prior to the announcement on Weibo, the Meizu M6s was spotted on GSMArena and suggested that the phone is likely to come with 18:9 aspect ratio display. At the rear panel, the handset has a U-shaped antenna bands that are visible on the top and bottom piece of the device. The M6s has a single camera setup at the rear accompanied by a Flash module. The left edge has volume rockers and the right edge hosts the power key.
Surprisingly, below the power key, there is a special key visible in the images appeared on TENAA. Several reports are suggesting that this key could be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The alleged images of the phone don’t show physical home key at the front and no dedicated fingerprint scanner at the rear panel. Thus, the possibility of offering the fingerprint scanner at a new place is significant.
In contrast, some previous leaks claimed that the handset could come with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Separately, a hands-on video of the alleged smartphone was appeared online boasting the fingerprint sensor underneath its display. However, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner would contradict this leak.
