After launching the Mate 9, Mate 9 Porsche Design, and Mate 9 Pro, the Chinese OEM, Huawei has now announced a more affordable version in the series called Huawei Mate 9 Lite.
The latest mobile is listed on the company’s website, however, the price of the smartphone is not mentioned on the website. Looking at the specifications and name, the smartphone is expected to get priced in between Rs 25,000 to Rs 28,000.
Coming to the specifications, the Huawei Mate 9 Lite features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display covered under 2.5D curved glass. The device is equipped with a Kirin 655 octa-core (4×2.1GHz + 4×1.7GHz). The smartphone will come in two variants- 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. In the Mate 9 Lite, the fingerprint scanner is positioned on the rear panel.
For photography, the smartphone offers a dual-rear camera setup, but it’s not Leica lens. The camera setup includes a 12MP+2MP sensors with phase detection autofocus. The camera features dual-core ISP, professional DSP, and depth measurement ISP which helps better image focusing. Also, dual-tone LED flash and OIS is available on the device. On the front panel, there is an 8MP selfie snapper.
On the connectivity front, the Huawei Mate 9 Lite includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, GPS, and Bluetooth. The device is backed by a 3340mAh battery. It measures dimensions at 150.9×76.2×8.2mm and weighs 162 grams. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS wrapped under Emotion UI 4.1.
Huawei mobiles has launched another smartphone called Mate 9 Pro in China last week. The Mate 9 Pro is the squeezed version of its premium Mate 9 Porsche Design smartphone. The major differences in between Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design are the premium design and fingerprint scanner placement. Rest of the specifications and features in both smartphones remain the same.
It is offered in two variants- 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The 4GB RAM variant is priced at RMB 4,699 (roughly Rs 46,500) while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at RMB 5,299 (roughly Rs 53,000).
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch dual-edge curved AMOLED QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. The device is equipped with Kirin 960 octa-core processor clocked at 4×2.4GHz and 4×1.8GHz.
For photography, the Mate 9 Pro offers a 12MP RGB and a 20MP monochrome sensor. The dual camera setup features dual-core ISP, professional DSP, and depth measurement. It also supports the 4K video recording. The smartphone is packed with a 4000mAh battery with fast charging feature. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS wrapped under Emotion US 5.0.
On the connectivity front, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C.
It’s worth mention that none of the Mate 9 series Smartphone has yet made its debut in India. The company has not officially announced the launch of Mate 9, Mate 9 Porsche Design, and Mate 9 Lite in India.
