Google Assistant is Coming to All Android 7.0 and 6.0 Smartphones

Google has recently announced its plans to make Google Assistant public for a wider range of devices at the MWC 2017. Initially, we know that smartphones like Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, and LG G6 will come preloaded with the digital assistant as the company is pushing the Google Assistant beyond the Pixel smartphones. Now, Google’s Twitter handle and the blog have confirmed that it will introduce the Assistant on the other Android mobiles as well.

The Google Assistant features artificial intelligence and machine learning. The assistant could help users in their daily activities such as setting up meetings, restaurant suggestion, and even let you play games with the Assistant.

The Google Assistant can be triggered just by pressing the Home button for a few seconds. The digital assistant relies on the machine learning technology which keeps improving the search results and responses over time. Furthermore, Google remembers your requests and choice which you made earlier and keep that in mind while suggesting.

Excited about the Google Assistant? Well, the Google Assistant service will be available for the devices running on Android 6.0 and Android 7.0. So, if you are using an older version of Android, your device will not get Assistant at all. The eligible users will have to update their device to the latest version. For doing so, Go to Settings>About Phone> and then find Check for Update here. Perform the download function if any update is available for your device.

Unfortunately, the Indian users might have to wait for the update to start to roll out as the update will be made available first in the US, Australia, UK, and Canada. Similarly, Samsung and Amazon has its own digital assistants called as Bixby and Alexa respectively. The Bixby Assistant is expected to be present in the upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone, whereas the Amazon Alexa is coming to the Moto Z smartphone later this year. The tech giant, Apple also has its Siri which is competent enough to handle almost every instruction.

Google comes with innate advantage in the digital assistant space as its Android platform is the dominating OS in the world. Considering this, the Google Assistant could soon mark its place in the majority of the smartphones across the world.
